3 Weeks to Go!!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well and the training is going well, Just to remind you there is only 3 weeks left to go until the run so I hope you are all happy with how your training is progressing.

I have been going to the gym a lot more recently which has been good, iv now got the motivation and im actually enjoying it which I never thought I would do, I think I’m addicted!

I’ve given up on the training before work routine, it wasnt much fun and I like my bed too much! but from now on until the race im going to run 5 nights a week to make sure on the day im not collapsing half way around  which would definitely have been the case a month ago!

I hope you are all enjoying getting ready for run and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.

Sorry I had disappeared!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry Iv not been on here much  lately but I have still been doing my training. I have slightly been improving over the weeks but not at a rate I would like so im stepping up the pace now. I’v started going to the gym before work now as going after work wasnt working out to well for me. I would get in  from work and end up sitting in front of the TV for hours or I would talk myself out of going on my drive home from work so that wasnt really working out to well.

I went for a long walk up and down some slight hills yesterday then went for a short run in the evening which was hard as I couldn’t get any energy to keep going but I have been to the gym this morning and I felt much better. I was able to keep running for a lot longer which was a nice feeling so im hoping that by keeping up the gym before work I will be on track to running the whole 10k by the time it comes round to it, although I am getting a bit nervous that im not going to be able to make it as its now only two months away.

I’v started training with a friend which has been a big help,  it has motivated me to keep going because I don’t want her to beat me!! On days were we don’t train together because she lives quite a distance away, we keep up to date with emails and text messages of what we have done the night before and are planning to do that day. I have found this to be a big help so if you are struggling for motivation try to find some one who is either the same fitness levels as yourself or better than yourself as this will make you want to train harder so that you are becoming as good as them.

Lyn I think you are better than what you are giving yourself credit for you sound like your training is going really well and no doubt you will be flying round the course by the time it comes to it, keep up the training, you are doing really well and im looking forward to seeing you on the day.

Yamax Digi Walker pedometer

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope your weekend has been a good one in the sun, I went to the gym on Sunday and I managed to run further than the other day which is good so if I keep improving in the way I am doing hopefully I will be able to run the whole race by the time it gets to it.

Whilst I was training I wore the Yamax Digi Walker pedometer, it calculated how many calories I had burnt and how many steps I had taken. It was a great piece of equipment to use as its light and I forgot I had it on, it has really inspired me to burn more calories and do more steps next time I go. I have worn it for work before and it is amazing how little I actually did I only took just short of 3,000 steps which is no were near the recommended 10,000 steps a day, so I will definitely be wearing it more often to make sure that I do somewhere close to 10,000 steps a day.

I will be doing lots more exercise this week so I will keep you up to date with all my activities and how im getting on.

Starting the Gym

I Everyone,

Last night I went to the gym for the first time in a long time and it was hard, really hard!

I ran and walked on the treadmill for 22 minutes, my distance travelled was only 1.6k which I was really disappointed about, im going to make a conscious effort to do some form of exercise every night next week. I would go tonight but England are playing and I can’t miss that!

I also cycled for 35 minutes whilst watching the telly so that felt quite easy because my mind was on other things rather than concentrating on what I was doing, but apart from that I don’t have much else to say unfortunately.

I am definitely going to buck my ideas up and get doing this training seriously because I need to!

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope your training is going well and you’re getting excited for the event, I went on my 10k cycle last night which was good and a lot easier than running!  I didn’t quite make my target time of 40 minutes but this is probably because I had to stop at the shop for a drink as I decided I was going to eat a fly half way round!, which really doesnt taste good by the way! so that added an extra couple of minutes on to my time but I did do it in 45 minutes altogether so hopefully next time I try this route I will be able to get my time down to 40 minutes and below.

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you have all had a great weekend and those Monday morning blues have now gone away!

On the training side of things I went for a little run on Saturday morning and managed to run a mile without stopping which I am quite happy with, I’ve still a long way to go yet though! 

Tonight I am planning to cycle a 10k route that I have plotted around my home and try to get my time under40 minutes, I will update you on how well that went in the morning, if it went well!

Hi Everyone,

Last night I tried to go for a run and it wasnt very successful!!

I’m putting it down to the heat! that’s not a good excuse I know but you’ve got to remember im not a runner!, so this is going to be a challenge for me, I need you guys to help me with this by giving me some tips ( if you have any) on how is the best way to get started.

I managed to run 3 quarters of a mile and walk 3 quarters of a mile, which I suppose isn’t to bad, I hope!

I’m going to be doing some more activities over the weekend so il catch up with you on Monday on how my progress went if any!

SO LET’S GET FIT FOR THE SUMMER PEOPLE!!!
